Biography

Ben focuses his practice around litigation in various areas of law. While at Washburn School of Law, he was awarded a Certificate of Advocacy. Ben is a faculty member of the Washburn Law School Intensive Trial Advocacy Program and is the head coach for the Kansas State University Mock Trial Team which competes against other universities throughout the country.

Ben brings a unique set of skills to Schlagel Long. His intensive litigation studies and experience complement the broader practice areas of Schlagel Long. Ben is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, and American Bar Association.

Biography

George is an Accredited Estate Planner through the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. He concentrates his efforts in estate planning and probate, including drafting wills and trusts, durable powers of attorney, health cares powers of attorney, living wills, formation of guardianships and conservatorships, planning for medical decision-making and estate and trust administration, including the preparation of estate and gift tax returns. He has substantial experience in estate and trust litigation, which includes the wrongful user of powers of attorney and related breaches of fiduciary duty cases. George also maintains a practice in real estate transactional work, both commercial and residential, involving buying selling, and related matters.

George is a member of the Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District. George is a past president and 30-year member of both the Olathe Area Chamber of Commerce and the Olathe Noon Rotary Club, as well as an active member in various other civic and business organizations in the Johnson County community. He is also a member of the Johnson County, Kansas, Missouri and the American Bar Associations and the Eastern Kansas Estate Planning Council.
